SA Blog Awards 2008 – Behind the scenes video

I posted some creative thoughts a few weeks ago regarding the SA Blog Awards announcement. After battling with the deteriorating light and noise from the nearby traffic, I decided to edit a shorter video with some of the more interesting visuals and interviews from behind the scenes. You can read all about the announcement and the latest news at the official SA Blog Awards website.

The idea for the video was to create something a little different than just the main announcement. And in response to the comments from my previous post, there’s a few very interesting interviews as well as John Cherry being interrupted by a gang of passing bikers. Listen carefully for the comment directly after the second batch of bikers pass – it’s classic.

Perhaps most interestingly is the scoop from Dave Duarte and Eric Edelstein regarding a new venture that uses the Muti platform in a very exciting and practical application. It’s an awesome announcement and I think the venture has excellent potential.

I also managed to get a few words from Leigh Stefanski, the Online editor of Getaway Magazine. Leigh is an intrepid traveler with a passion for writing. It’s encouraging to see her involvement and interest in the 2008 awards . You can follow her adventures at her blog here.

The nomination for the 2008 SA Blog Awards will be open from 11 February 2008 to 22 February 2008.

I’ll be posting some more thoughts, ideas and videos once the nominations are in. Somewhere in all of this, a video series is trying to be born. Apologies for the rough visual quality, the light was not on my side.

Here’s the video (2 min 49 sec):
